"Think of this moment.  All that has ever been is in this moment; all that will be is in this moment.  Both are meeting in one living flame, in this unique instant of time.  This is drama; this is theatre -- to be aware of the Now."‚Äč

There is nothing like the theatre.

For a few hours, audience and performers breathe as one, creating a communal experience that will never be repeated.  We celebrate and grieve together, unified by our desire to portray and witness and understand the human condition -- in all its vile ugliness as well as its transcendent beauty -- as fully as possible.  Then, if the play has done its job, we emerge from the theatre, changed.  And we go our separate ways.

Truly miraculous.
